BIO:
In 2025 Joey Ikemoto will have been in business for 48 years. He has been married for 40 years and has 2 amazing children Jenna and Jonathan.
Jonathan, who will be on this trip, is also the lead photographer at the studio.
In his 48 years of business Joey has been very successful in many aspects of the photography industry he has had to pivot his expertise to cover many different profit centers from weddings, family portraits, children, product, commercial as well as now into volume school photography.
As the industry changed over the decades his skill and knowledge had to change to stay competitive in this ever-changing climate.
Before the pandemic the studio photographed 80-100 weddings a year.
On the website the Knot as well as Wedding wire he has maintained a 5-star rating and the Best of Knot for 14 years.
For his Children photography he created a Kids club program that brought in children session year-round.
When the Pandemic shut down the entire wedding and portrait profit centers, he was able to pivot the studio to a volume product photography studio where the studio photographed 85,000 products for one company.
He has also secured many jobs for commercial clients and has retained jobs for Toyota, Samsung and AT&T. to name a few. These commercial assignments have taken him across the country several times as well as around the world.
He has done assignments in Japan, Costa Rica and the Bahamas.
For the last 3 years the studio has again pivoted his business to volume photography with a twist of focusing on only the high-end schools. We have created a niche in our school photography giving the students and parents superior experience and creative photography. This past summer the photography studio photographed close to 2,000 students.
On the advice of Bud Haynes, a consultant that he found thru PPA, Joey was advised to buy a commercial building.
Joey was able to fulfill that dream 26 years ago and owns a beautiful 6000 Sq foot retail building in Historical Downtown Torrance. This one piece of advice he has secured a passive income not just for his family but for generations to come.
Joey also retained Bud to be on his Board of Directors for many years.
On this cruse you will be able to learn what it takes to thrive in the photography industry, no matter what your photography skill level, business acuity or what type of photography is your main profit center.
Joey is very easy-going and will gladly help you on this wonderful journey.

They will research and pick something of interest and check out possibilities of a tour based on interest. There maybe additional costs for the shore excursion.
Lots of possibilities for a wildlife adventure awaits on the Island of Catalina.
On Ensenada we will be looking into going to the Blowhole.
Keep a look out for emails updating you on the Adventures.

LONG BEACH
Cabrillo and his crew of explorers anchored off the present site of Long Beach.
Vast clouds of smoke were rolling high in the sky from burning grass and brush ashore where the native Indians were conducting one of their periodic rabbit drives.
Cabrillo named the area Bahia de los Fumos — the Bay of Smokes.
The first modern identity for Long Beach began with the sprawling rancho awarded Manuel Nieto in 1784.
Time and descendants divided the old Spanish Land Grant until the bulk of what is now Long Beach was contained in two ranchos, Los Cerritos and Los Alamitos.
CATALINA ISLAND

Join an exploration of Catalina Island’s coastline onboard a motorized rigid-hull inflatable raft. There is a good chance you’ll encounter the island’s bald eagles, harbor seals, sea lions, red tail hawks and other local wildlife. View Long Point, Italian Gardens, Goat Harbor, and Rippers Cove. Then continue two to three miles offshore in search of dolphins during the ride back to Avalon.

Ensenada
Attractions & Activities
For one of the most amazing sights in Ensenada, travel through the city and into the countryside, past farms and olive groves, to “La Bufadora,” or blowhole.
This fascinating natural phenomenon shoots water through crevices formed in the rock face of the cliff.
